Book Club Meeting - Wednesday, August 20 6pm
For our next book club meeting, we chose People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. However, since it just came out in January, is only available in hard back and we don’t have any in stock at the store, I would like to suggest The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It sounds like a similar “Da Vinci Code”-type of story, we already have a few in stock and we can order more in paperback so nobody has to spend $25+ to get a copy.
I just looked up a description of it online - looks like it fills the bill for vampires, too. Didn’t Sharon ask for something with vampires? 
Discussion Rescheduled
Since 40% of the book club was sick or injured, we didn’t get a chance to really discuss The Historian. So, we’re rescheduling the meeting for Wednesday, September 3 at 6 pm. If you’ve recently read The Historian, whether or not you’ve attended before, you’re welcome to join us! Should be fun.
We’ll pick our next book at the September 3 meeting. Bring one or more suggestions. Perhaps we should pick the next 2 books.

As it turned out, half of us really liked the book, one of us hated it and one thought it was so-so. Guess that’s how it goes. The discussion was lively just the same.
