Dungeons & Dragons Game Day, Saturday, September 19, 2009, 1pm

Filed under: RPG Events — Tags: — tina @ 2:29 pm

Dungeons & Dragons Game Day, September 19, 2009Sign up now to reserve your seat at Dungeons & Dragons Game Day, Saturday, September 19 at Here Be Books & Games. The fun starts at 1:00 pm. Just drop by Here Be Books or call us and let us know you want to play. Seating is limited, so sign up early.

Join in the fun as we celebrate the release of Dungeon Master’s Guide 2, packed with new options for your Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition game.

In the spirit of Dungeon Mastering, we’re giving you the opportunity to create and show off your very own adventure! Work as a team to build encounters using the materials provided. After your team has finished, play another team’s adventure or DM the one your team created. We provide you with everything you need — maps, miniatures, monster stats, and how-to instructions. Just bring your imagination, a pencil or pen, and some dice!

Just for playing, you’ll take home the pregenerated character sheet and a miniature of the character you played. If you DM the game, you’ll take home a poster map of the encounter areas and a pack of monster miniatures used in the adventure.

This is a very special activity that has never before been a part of Worldwide D&D Game Day! But don’t worry if you just want to play; you can participate in as much or as little of the adventure-building activity as you want. Nothing, however, beats the satisfaction of hearing another team howl in terror as they fight the foes and traps you placed for them!

A Passage Into Mystery is a special team-created 6th-level adventure that uses tiles from DU3 Caves of Carnage and monsters from the Monster Manual: Legendary Evils miniatures expansion. Come out on September 19 and be a part of the adventure!

Dungeons & Dragons Game Day - Saturday, November 3, 2007

Last year we faced down the diabolic monsters and a fiendish villain. I’d like to say we survived, but alas, we all died heroic deaths… and the villain behind it all got away! This year it’s sure to be different, right? Regardless of the outcome, we all had a great time last year and every player who participated walked away with some excellent booty. This year it could be you - we always need more cannon fodder - er, did I say that out loud? What I meant to say is that this year it could be you taking home some cool gaming booty.

Don’t miss this year’s Dungeons & Dragons Game Day. Just stop by the store to sign up.

Join Us For the Fun November 4, 2006!
Sign up in the store now!

Grab your trusty, hopefully not too dusty, dice and prepare to face down diabolic monsters and fiendish villains in celebration of the greatest RPG (roleplaying game) ever: Dungeons & Dragons.

As the mists part on this, the third year, of Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day, we’ll travel back to Ravenloft for the mini adventure, Curse of Gethin Abbey. Whether you’re new to roleplaying or an old hand, don’t miss this chance for exciting adventure in the gray, haunted planes of a world inhabited by vampires and other assorted creatures and monsters. Curse of Gethin Abbey provides a great introduction to D&D for those who are new to the game, but has all the thrills of a full-scale adventure for those already well-versed in roleplaying.

While supplies last, players will receive a free Worldwide D&D Game Day souvenir to add to their treasure trove. Souveniers include special promotional D&D Miniatures and D&D Campaign Cards. Characters for Curse of Gethin Abbey will be provided at the event. You can also preview them on the RPGA website via the links below.

Sign up sheets will be posted at Here Be Books approximately two weeks before the event. You don’t have to sign up ahead of time, but signing up will assure you a place at the table and help us determine how many chairs and DM’s we’ll need.

To learn more about Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day, visit the official site at www.dndgameday.com. Worldwide D&D Game Day is sponsored by Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc. The celebration will take place at participating gaming retailers across the U.S. and Europe. Join us Saturday, November 4, for a fun-filled day of gaming at Here Be Books.

An Adventure for 4th-level Characters
by Rich Baker

Caught by a fierce winter storm while making their way over the difficult Gethinnar Pass, the adventurers seek shelter for the night in a lonely temple of Pelor. Unfortunately for them, their refuge is not as safe as it seems. Terror stalks the shadowed halls and brooding chambers of Gethin Abbey. Who will survive?

Encounter Levels: Curse of Gethin Abbey is designed for six characters of 4th level. The default Encounter Level for this adventure is 5. DMs wishing to write their own further adventures for D&D Game Day should optimize them to that challenge level.
